How to Delete Large Programs from Site in Less Time than Using FTP App

Sometimes, it is just too much time and effort that you spend on deleting programs that you put through ftp on your site. I had this big program with 10.000 files, that I needed to delete because it reached the server limit for files (which I learned only after have reached it) and it was taking so long, almost as long as it had taken to be uploaded.

So, it occurred to me that it could have a faster way to do it, perhaps through the server itself. So I went to the server and tried to delete the whole directory from there. The first attempt was unsuccessful, but the in the second time I succeeded. It was just question of seconds.

That was what I learned today. So, if you ever need to delete large number of files, try to delete them directly from the File Manager from the server. I don’t guarantee that this will work in every server, because some servers are not equipped with the latest programs for that. The server that I used was on 000webhost.com.
